"I am incredibly excited to be leading the Hillel Orientation Team! HOT creates a two-day orientation program at the end of every summer called Freshmen Fest, a program that I believe changed the course of my college career on my first day.
Freshmen Fest provided me with invaluable advice from upperclassmen and allowed me to forge great friendships, yet it also did something far more important. Freshman fest made me part of a community before I attended my first class. It made clear to me that Hillel would be my home and quickly inspired me to become involved further.
As chair of the Hillel Orientation Team, I want to give new Jewish students the same experience. I want to make them feel how I felt. Cornell Hillel is a living, vibrant community whose existence hinges upon its ability to inspire Jewish students. It is HOT’s responsibility to create an environment that will do that before freshmen meet their roommates. It is a great pleasure to help build the Cornell Hillel community."
