When you feel like the only kid at Cornell without a Christmas tree,
here's a list of Chanukah activities happening on campus,
for Jews like you and me!
Nightly Menorah Candle Lighting (co-hosted with Chabad) December 6-13 on Ho Plaza, 5pm each night, except:
- 3:30pm on Friday, December 11
- 6:30pm on Saturday, December 12
- 5:30pm on Sunday, December 13 - featuring President Elizabeth Garrett!
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6:
Chanukah Party on North
5pm @ Tatkon Center Room 3331
Join us for latkes, gelt, dreidels, and candle lighting!
JLIC Menorah Candle Lighting
5pm @ 104 West!
Kick off the start of Chanukah by gatherinerg around the
menorah. You’ll also have the chance to register with the
Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 7:
Lunch Latke Dip Bar
Starting 11:30am @ 104 West!
Stop by for FREE latkes (until they run out) with an assortment of delicious dips. No lunch purchase needed.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8:
Torah on Tap
8pm @ Rulloff's (in Collegetown)
Learn about Chanukah’s textual sources, while enjoying free beer and good company. For the 21+ crowd only.
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9:
The JLIC’s Traveling Study Break
Can’t schlep over to another program? No problem! Simply post your location to this event page, 10-4 on Dec. 4, and our JLIC staff will bring snacks to you!
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10:
Jewish Graduate Student Association Chanukah Party
8-10pm @ Loco Cantina
Hang out with friends and meet new ones over drinks. Graduate students and young professionals only.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11:
Chanukah Shabbat Dinner
6:30pm check-in; 7pm meal served @ 104 West!
Celebrate the holiday over a traditional Shabbat dinner with a Chanukah twist! Pre-register at dining.cornell.edu/kosherto save $2.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12:
CJL Chanukah Party
7pm at 104 West!
There ain’t no Chanukah party like one with free Kosher BBQ! The Center for Jewish Living will host a party with latkes, sufganiyot, a BBQ dinner, lots of singing & dancing, and even a screening of “A Rugrats Chanukah”!
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13:
Sugarcoating Chanukah (Women’s Programming)
8pm at 104 West!
Decorate (and eat) Chanukah cookies, while learning about the role of women in the holiday story.
