In an era where digital calendars are becoming preferred over hard copies, Cornell Hillel’s Jewish Greek Council is changing that trend. Beginning in 2011, on the desks of students, parents, and even grandparents will be the first ever Cornell’s Nice Jewish Greek Men Calendar.
Susu Fried, a Junior who serves as President of the Jewish Greek Council , partnered with Jewish Greek Council Members to recruit young Jewish men in different fraternities to serve as models. These models include Mr. September Peter Jacobs, who travelled on Cornell Hillel’s JDC Trip to Ukraine this past summer and Mr. November, Michael Youngworth, Cornell Hillel’s Annual Fund Intern.
"This calendar was a wonderful project and my proudest accomplishment as President of the Jewish Greek Council. Our aim was to get as many Greek houses and Greek students involved in the calendar and expand Hillel's outreach as far as possible,” Susu explained. “We successfully involved 5 sororities and 10 fraternities in this project. Not only do these calendars serve as amazing gifts for your family and friends, they are also extremely useful for the Jewish Cornell student. The calendars will be hanging on the walls of apartments and Greek houses across campus next year, reminding everyone of the Jewish holidays, Greek recruitment dates and important Cornell dates such as Slope Day and exams."
The first batch of the calendars sold out at $10 a piece. A second round has been printed. For more information, contact Susu, firstname.lastname@example.org
